Take a stand for kids. VETO HB 1586

Message:

As a concerned Texan, I am asking you stand up for children and veto HB 1586.

Despite the largest measles outbreak our state has seen in 30 years, the legislature voted to remove the guardrails that protect children against vaccine preventable diseases in schools.

HB 1586 can potentially discourage parents from vaccinating their children. The more kids that are opted-out of vaccination means lower vaccination rates, increasing the likelihood of disease outbreaks that can spread in schools and the broader community. We are already seeing this happen in our state right now.

I urge you to stand up for immunization policies that protect the health of our students, educators, and families and veto HB 1586.
